01 Jul The Silver Lining of Divorce
Depending on what stage of divorce you are currently going through, you may think the title of this blog is a myth. But I’m here to tell you that isn’t so!
Yes, the first few months are definitely tough. It can be very difficult having your kids leave for the weekend and certainly not easy being alone in the house.
But before you know it, you will start noticing all the little perks. For starters, you may have always dreamed of having your own bedroom closet. Suddenly that dream becomes a reality and you can take over the entire closet and organize your clothes and shoes to your heart’s content.
Bonus – if you have an ensuite master bathroom, you just scored your own bathroom as well. A bathroom where nobody leaves the seat up or forgets to flush, you’re never out of toilet paper, and the cap on the toothpaste is always on!
And now moving to the bed… You can sleep on either side, in the middle or diagonally across the entire bed. Nobody is stealing your blanket in the middle of the night, yanking your pillow out from under your head, or even worse – snoring in your ear! Maybe you used to sleep naked or loved your fuzzy pajamas. Whatever it may be, the good news is you can wear whatever you want to bed! You can go to bed whenever you like and only get up on Saturday mornings when you need food.
Which brings us to the topic of the kitchen where you are now the sole master – keep things wherever you like, cook what and when you want. Or microwave some popcorn for dinner, open a bottle of wine and tune in to your favourite Netflix series. And guess what? You are also the new master of the remote control!
So yes, it may be a difficult adjustment at the beginning, but I guarantee you will learn to love it!
